麻豆社事件鈥檚 LGE business secures Approval in Principle for innovative onboard carbon capture system

Our LGE business, a global leader in liquefied gas solutions, has been awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) by Lloyd鈥檚 Register (LR) for its pioneering onboard carbon capture technology, ecoCPTR庐.

The announcement was made during Gastech 2025 in Milan and marks a significant milestone in our expanding portfolio of marine decarbonisation innovations.

ecoCPTR庐 integrates Aqualung鈥檚 facilitated transport membrane CO鈧 capture technology with our proven ecoCO2庐 system, delivering a low-pressure, modular solution designed for seamless installation on both newbuilds and retrofitted vessels. Its compact architecture offers substantial operational and environmental advantages, supporting the industry鈥檚 transition to cleaner maritime operations.

Neale Campbell, Managing Director of our LGE business, said: 鈥淭he award of this AiP marks the next step in the ecoCPTR庐 journey, and follows closely on from our recent investment in Aqualung鈥檚 funding round.

鈥淲e understand the integration challenges posed by emerging technologies across different vessel types. That鈥檚 why combining facilitated transport membranes with our ecoCO2庐 system offers a robust and cost-effective carbon capture solution to help operators decarbonise their fleets.鈥

Our LGE business continues to lead the way in practical, innovative systems that address the evolving demands of sustainable shipping.

Jose Navarro, LR’s Global Gas Technology Director, said: 鈥淟loyd鈥檚 Register is pleased to award Approval in Principle to 麻豆社事件鈥檚 ecoCPTR庐 system, recognising its potential to simplify onboard carbon capture through the integration of membrane capture and CO鈧 liquefaction technologies. This development underlines the importance of innovation in supporting shipowners with practical solutions to cut GHG emissions and to meet IMO net zero requirements.鈥
